Republican Candidate Picks 2010 Primaries

Reason

Preference

Senator

Tom Campbel: I like Tom Campbell, he is a
good,moderate Republican.

I won't support him this time because he is too moderate.

Chuck Devore: Really like his background.A working man who worked his way through college and studied in Cairo. A research scientist, an intelligence officer in the reserves, an advocate of nuclear power, of impeccable conservative credentials. I wish I could vote for him.

Carly Fiorina: HP CEO and Lucent (Bell Labs). BA in History and Philosophy from Stanford, MBA in marketing, MS in management from MIT. She went from secretary and receptionist to CEO, taught English in Italy. 15 years from higher to Senior VP at AT&T, President of Lucent consumer communications, then of global service (the largest component of Lucent). HP in 1999, oversaw the Compaq merger. Tried to buy EDS, was rebuffed by shareholders,HP eventually bought EDS.A contentious career with significant ups and downs.

She is a strong proponent of H1B visas, point person to McCain in economics.

My pick, although I would love Devore. She has a chance to beat Boxer

Carly
Fiorina:

Lieutenant Governor

Abel Maldonado: MexAm parents, a agri major (Crop Science) who didn't fishish his BA.  Managed his parents 6K acre farm employing 250 people, produce shipped world wide.

Steve Cooley:  LA DA, father was FBI agent, studied at Cal State LA, law from USC (1973) and worked for DA office. Police officer for 7 years. He is against 3 strikes opposed Jessica's Law, opposed to medicinal marijuana, investigated public officials. Clearly not in contention.

John Eastman: My favorite, I have been listening to him for years on Hugh Hewitt and he makes sense. Chapman U School of Law chairman, PHD in government form Claremont, JD from U of Chicago, commissioner of civil rights for Reagan, clerked for Clarence Thomas.

Tom Harman: Senate and Assembly from OC.  BA Kansas State, US Army , JD from Loyola. Law firm with Lucas (chief justice of CA, and Deumejian Governor of CA). Replaced John Campbel in 2006. Looks like a good man.
