Syria

Syria, in the last week, has been delivered as a gift to Assad. The giver, Obama, was thankful that he did not pull the trigger and start a war. The winner, Putin, smiled at the sudden enlargement of Russia's influence over the Iran, Iraq, Syria,  and Lebanon. He also looked forward to enlarging that sphere to include Saudi Arabia and Turkey, as they come to an accommodation with a nuclear Iran, and its Russian protector.

I hope Obama can now turn around and deal with his real enemies, the Republicans, who are trying to rein in expenditures.
