WAPO: Opinions Trump’s nomination would rip the heart out of the Republican Party -- By Michael Gerson

"Every Republican of the type concerned with winning in November has been asking the question (at least internally): “What if the worst happens?”"
a. Cruz is nominated
b. Even worse, Trump is nominated.

Gerson is talking about 60% of the Republican part and saying their will would rip its heart out. Where does that heart lay? In the 30 % of the republican (not including Carson) left?  He is really talking about the elite which has been lying to republicans with empty promises for the past 8 years.

"Give us the House and we will stop the President through the power of the Purse" Done -- nothing happened
"Give us the Senate so we can pass the bills and get them to the President" Done -- nothing happened.

And now: "We need a President of our (the elite's choice) so give us Bush, and having a trifecta we might get something done.

The people making these promises have already ripped the heart out of the Republican party. It's time theirs was ripped out through outright rejection as well.

Lincoln and Farage may not be distant relatives of Trump (I don't know, never met them!), but Reagan is.  He also used simple language, simple goals to get his message across, his motto was the Shining City on the Hill, Trumps is "Make America Great Again" rebuild the city Obama is trying to destroy.

The scurrilous attacks of this writer have nothing to do with reality. Enforcing the rule of law is not religious or racial exclusion.  Keeping America Safe is not religious exclusion, it is recognizing that a significant subset of a large group is dangerous, and they don't have any civil rights protected by our constitution that would make us accept them into our society.  More and more Americans are dying by their hands, civilians and police, and you the elite keep missing the point. Safety First.

Gersons solution! Create a 3rd party to preserve connivance with the democrats and ensure their success.

How about negotiating with Trump? Have you heard the Art of the Deal?
