An interesting decision has been reached by the US Court of
Appeals for the District of Columbia in the area of Internet costs. At Verizon’s insistence, the court struck
down the FCC’s Open Internet regulations (Net Neutrality). Under the decision, Verizon and others will
be able to charge not by the bit transferred, but by the content transferred.
Thus, if you like a specific show, or movie, you can be charged more for
it. Popularity is convertible to cash,
and it is our pockets from which that cash flows.
