Family Leave

We can look around the world for “goodies” provided by law by both lawless and lawful countries, by rich countries and poor countries, and build a list that could sink any country into bankruptcy.
I would suggest that the advantage of family leave after the birth of the first child and until the last child is out of High School are clear and it needs to apply to both parents or it would be sexist. No one with children in the house should work, they should concentrate on bringing their children up properly, provide a good family environment, and make themselves and their children better persons.
Countries providing less than this ideal are clearly heartless, hate children, and are opposed to sexual equality and economic justice.
The problem of course is means.  Who is paying for it?
Why not deal with the payments we have today, our $20T (Trillion) Debt, the Social Security backlog of around $100T and, when we are finished with them, get to the generation of a similar debt either for family leave, or for the $100K minimum yearly salary required for a middle class standard of living.
My proposal would be a bit different. Fix the tax system so that everyone pays them as sales taxes. Eliminate IRS, all tax lawyers, all CPAs that deal with taxes only.  Then, having determined how much sales taxes to take, and how much we need to pay off our debts, decide if we can add to them in order to have family leave.  Put it to a vote. If it wins raise both taxes, and the family leave program at the same time for a specific period of time, increase the sales taxes in that period of time if you underestimated.
Then take another vote, whether to keep both taxes that resulted and family leave, or reduce taxes and eliminate family leave.

What I resent about all of these proposals is that politicians believe they have right to the money I and others have made with the sweat of our brows, and that they never have to look at the other side of the equation, at the costs incurred and how to pay for them.
