WAPO: Covering Trump without contempt, Joe Scarborough
I had given up on normal commentary on WAPO, and I am astounded again.
Thank you Joe for a reasonable analysis of Trump's appearance at AIPAC.
I believe you too fail to see the strategy, and the tactics of the Donald.
He is always entertaining, but must be very entertaining to keep his voters happy, and very controversial to keep all eyes, and media, focused on him. His serious side has come out briefly before, but his short sentences, challenging extremist positions which turn out to be right, and his giving himself the right to change details rather than goals, have kept all "analyst" unhappy.
After all, you are much more used to parsing what the meaning of the word "IS" is, to quote a great grammarian and former presidential predator.
Simple language like:
1. No more Muslim immigrants until we figure it out, don't make sense until Paris and Brussels hit you in the face.
2. We need a wall, doesn't make sense until someone looks at Israel and sees that it works.
3. We need to win, doesn't make sense until you see what playing to lose do in the world, how leading from behind leaves us behind and kills hundreds of thousands and millions of people.
4. PC is to be disregarded doesn't make sense until we see it contributing to the attack in San Bernardino
5. Kill the enemy doesn't make sense until we see that enemy as a cancer which needs to be aggressively managed rather than using palliatives.
